Some people start a business to make a profit. I started one to make a point: that purity still matters. This is the founder story behind that decision — and what it actually takes to build a brand with soul instead of just another label on a shelf.
For more than twenty years, I worked in operations across consumer goods, high tech, and biotech. I learned how great companies are built through discipline, detail, and a relentless commitment to quality. But I also saw how easily integrity can erode when scale begins to outweigh substance.
That realization stayed with me. Long before I created Pure & Easy Tea, I had already built an intolerance for shortcuts.
Where This Founder Story Really Started
My journey into wellness began decades earlier, watching my mother face terminal illness with extraordinary grace. Her battle ignited a lifelong fascination with health, nutrition, and the power of nature to heal. I immersed myself in research, convinced that what we consume has the power to change us. That belief never left me.

The book that changed everything. I read Dr. Ralph Moss’s Cancer Therapy when my mother was ill — nearly 30 years ago, it opened my eyes to a new way of thinking about health and healing.
After years of building systems, teams, and products for others, I knew it was time to build something for myself—something that reflected the values I had carried for decades: purity, honesty, and purpose.
How the Search for Purity Led Back to Tea
After moving to Arizona and feeling the fatigue of the desert heat, I began searching for ways to truly nourish the body — to stay hydrated without the GMOs, sugar, and synthetic additives so common in today’s so-called wellness products. That search led me back to tea, expecting purity and simplicity. Instead, I found chemicals, artificial flavorings, and even microplastics hidden in the sachets. I knew I could do better.
After that moment, I started blending my own teas — clean, functional combinations that worked in harmony and made me feel whole again. You can read more about what that standard of purity actually means on our What Is Pure Tea page.

Early R&D Blends — the starting point of Pure & Easy Tea. Each one a step towards redefining what “pure” should mean.
From a Personal Fix to a Pure Tea Brand
What began as a personal pursuit quickly awakened something deeper. My business mind saw potential in what my body already knew — that there was a gap in the market for genuine, unadulterated nourishment. I wanted to share this feeling of clarity and wellness with the world.
Pure & Easy Tea grew from that vision. It wasn’t about chasing trends or filling shelves; it was about creating something real, something people could trust. Every blend was crafted with intention — to make it easy for people to effectively nourish their bodies and experience the benefits of true purity. What better way to do it than over a cup of tea? Hence the name, Pure & Easy Tea.
Building a Brand With Soul
Building a brand with soul takes time. It means saying no when others say yes, trusting that integrity will always outlast imitation. For me, it’s not about how loud a brand speaks, but how deeply its purpose is felt.
Because in a world built on shortcuts, purity remains the longest — and most rewarding — path forward.
If this founder story resonates, the fuller version — including how that philosophy shows up in every blend we make — lives on our Founder’s Story page.

From purpose to purity — one thoughtful blend at a time.
That’s what a brand with soul actually looks like up close: not a slogan, but a decade of small, unglamorous choices that all point the same direction.
